Counselling

Are you feeling like you've lost your footing? Are you struggling with nightmares, apathy, or panic attacks?

A crisis can be triggered by life-altering events such as divorce, the death of a loved one, illness, infidelity, or unemployment. These experiences can lead to overwhelming feelings of helplessness, confusion, worry, and anxiety.

Crisis support is an immediate intervention, but also a process that helps individuals build long-term mental and emotional stability. It offers a space where you can put your thoughts and emotions into words, receive validation for your experiences, and gain an understanding of the natural reactions that arise in a time of crisis. It may also involve a calming presence, help in organizing what feels chaotic, and both practical and emotional support to address needs that emerge during such situations. As soon as possible, it’s important to return to the activities and routines that previously contributed to your well-being. The goal is to help you regain your balance and begin living a life of well-being once again. When crisis work is handled with care, more serious consequences such as  mental health issues can often be prevented. In essence, counselling is about being supported while you work through life’s difficulties, so you can feel more empowered, balanced, and connected to yourself and others.

Support for caregivers

Do you prioritize others' well-being over your own? What happens when your own energy runs out? Do you have the strategies and support you need to sustain yourself in the long run? Sometimes, seeking professional help can be valuable. You will receive guidance and support on how to set boundaries with confidence and without inner conflict, boundaries that reflect your values while also taking care of your own needs. It’s okay to say no and to ask for help.

Mindfulness involves training the mind to observe thoughts, emotions, and sensory experiences with acceptance. It offers an opportunity to honor the body’s natural need for healing and recovery. By slowing down and becoming present in the moment, we create space for inner calm, clarity, and self-compassion. At the same time, stress and anxiety are addressed through cognitive therapy, which helps to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns. The combination of mindfulness and cognitive techniques supports emotional regulation, reduces inner tension, and strengthens your ability to cope with life’s challenges in a more balanced and grounded way.

What is a crises?

In psychology, a crisis is defined as the pattern of reactions that occurs when an individual is faced with an event that exceeds their ability to cope. Grief and crisis reactions are normal responses to unusual and often difficult events, which affect us both emotionally and physiologically. It is common to experience increased sensitivity to stress and demands, feelings of sadness, difficulty concentrating, and fatigue. These symptoms can make it challenging to manage work and social relationships. If these difficulties persist over time, the risk of developing mental health issues increases, and professional support may be needed.
