The CognitiveLit

FAQ
Availability
How soon can I get an appointment?
I strive to offer appointments on short notice, I will get back to you the same day, and no later than within three days.

At the Clinic, Online or homevisits
I offer digital therapy sessions and home visits, following an initial consultation online or at the office. The first session, the consultation, is non-binding and free of charge.

Do I need a referral or diagnosis?
No, you don’t need a referral or diagnosis to talk to me. You’re welcome just as you are.

What happens during the first session?
We’ll talk about how I can help you, get an overview of your life situation, and explore your goals for therapy.

A loved one needs help but refuses to see a therapist, what can I do?
Trying to persuade or pressure someone into therapy is rarely effective. For therapy to be helpful, the person must want to engage in the process themselves. A good first step is to express your concern and care, and explain why you believe they could benefit from support. If it feels safer, it's absolutely okay for a friend or family member to accompany them to the session.
Services
What services does The CognitiveLit offer?
Individual therapy and couples therapy in Marbella, as well as online. Personalized treatment to help individuals manage psychological challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues. The therapeutic approaches offered include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Couples Therapy, and Supportive Counseling. I also provide Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Coaching.

ADHD and Therapy
I have solid experience in adapting treatment for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions (such as ADHD or autism). I also tailor therapy for young people struggling with school avoidance or prolonged absence from school.
How long is a session?
A session lasts 60 minutes, or alternatively 90 minutes. For PTSD, I recommend 90-minute sessions. Sometimes I also suggest 90-minute sessions for exposure therapy, for example in treating phobias.
How many sessions will I need?
I generally recommend 5 to 20 CBT sessions depending on the nature and complexity of the issue. Schema Therapy treatments are longer, but the duration depends on the scope of the difficulties being addressed.
Private therapy practice
Why choose a private therapy practice?
You’ll receive a quick start and personal attention from me as your therapist throughout the entire treatment process. As a private therapist, I have the freedom to tailor the therapy to your individual needs and preferences. With me, you don’t need a diagnosis to get help, it’s enough that you want to feel better or simply need someone to talk to. Together, we decide how often we meet and how long the treatment lasts, without fixed frameworks or limitations. My focus is on making sure you feel safe, heard, and understood and that the support you receive truly suits you.

What’s the difference between a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist
and a Coach or Counselor?
Titles like coach and counselor are not regulated. This means anyone can use them, regardless of education or training, and without formal qualifications to treat mental health issues. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT), I have an academic degree and additional training in psychotherapy. I am a certified social worker with further education in CBT. My training is approved by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. To become a licensed psychotherapist, at least two years of supervised clinical work are also required. This license is a quality mark that ensures solid education and clinical experience.

Can you help me with my specific problems?
I offer support grounded in accessibility, compassion, and evidence. Whether you're struggling with mental health or life challenges, I'm here for you. The therapy I provide is based on evidence-based methods, supported by research and proven effective in practice. With me, you’ll be met in a respectful, safe, and personalized way, where we shape the treatment together based on your needs and goals.
Guidelines
How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, the easiest way is to contact me directly by email or phone. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, which means you must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the session. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be charged half the session fee.
